I loved the article about germs. Maybe I'll re-post it with a picture of Rylee last summer eating dirt. Just like everything, I think it's about balance. I sanitize her hands after playgroups (most of the time) because cold and flu germs are gross. But I let her eat dirt and play on the ground and then just wash up before eating. I don't bleach the house like crazy or chase her around with alcohol. I hope it's doing something to ward off allergies and auto-immune, too.
